Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program

The Bahá’í Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program is a global and community-based educational program for young people ages 12 to 15 that helps them develop moral reasoning, critical thinking, and a sense of purpose. Through small group discussions, service projects, and creative activities, participants explore themes such as justice, unity, and the power of language. The program aims to support junior youth during a formative stage of life, empowering them to contribute positively to their communities while building confidence and strong character.  These programs are most often held in local neighborhoods, supported by parents, youth mentors and young adults who are passionate about being of service to young people.

The Curriculum

Ruhi Institute Workbooks

The JYSEP workbooks are concerned with developing language skills and the power of expression. Some in the first category also address mathematical concepts and social issues, while others seek to prepare young people to approach the investigation of physical, social and spiritual reality in a scientific manner. Though the moral concepts in the materials in the first category are drawn from the Bahá’í teachings, they are not religious in nature, nor do they treat subjects that are specifically Bahá’í. Many neighborhoods of various beliefs around the world find this education engaging and valuable for the young people in their communities.
